#36 | The Say Something Nice Holiday Special, Part 2: “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Review

Recorded just after opening weekend, Brandon, Kareem, John, and Ken review "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in depth: what they each did & didn’t like, how successful J.J. Abrams was in rebooting the franchise, and how the new film matches up agains the other Star Wars films.

Be forewarned: there are HEAVY SPOILERS for “The Force Awakens”. HEAVY (© Jadakiss)

In addition, Brandon relays his not-so-pleasant experience at the Atlanta-area movie theater where he went to go see "The Force Awakens" (hint: it rhymes with "Semantic Nation"). We also touch on Spike Lee’s "Chi-Raq", Quentin Tarantino’s complaints about "The Force Awakens" commandeering the Cinerama Dome, Chadwick Boseman playing Thurgood Marshall, Universal making a live-action "Little Mermaid", Tyler Perry teaming up with FOX to do his own live musical about The Passion, and (somehow) "Dreamgirls".

And oh yeah, that Steve Harvey Miss Universe thing happened while we were recording, so that’s here too…

Join Brandon, John, Kareem, Ken, and Jamison as we discuss, dissect, and try to make sense of the past, present, and future in film, television, music, animation, race relations in media - and on occasion comics and tech - while trying to remain sane. If you’re tired of hearing the same (*ahem*) monochromatic take on modern media, we’re the podcast for you!
