#89 | A Pox on All Your Productions

Despite an awful week in American news and society, Brandon and Ken are here to discuss the latest in film, TV, and music to try and lift some spirits. We review “The Secret Life of Pets” and AMC’s “Preacher”, and also discuss Ken seeing “The Shining” at Atlanta’s Fox Theater, Brandon’s continual catching up with “The Flash” Season 2, who might play Joe West (if there IS a Joe West, *grumble grumble*) in Warner Bros. big-screen version of “The Flash”, “Marvel introducing a new Iron Man who is a Black teenage girl named Riri Williams (“Riri?”), MTV & BET’s “What Now” live special on police brutality, Wendy Williams putting her foot in her mouth on her talk show while discussing BET & HBCUs, and more – including a revisit to Eddie Murphy’s “Vampire in Brooklyn”, “Pokémon Go”, and Brandon doing multiple Keith David impersonations.

Also, we read your five-star reviews! Thanks so much everyone for sending them in!

Join Brandon, John, Kareem, Ken, and Jamison as we discuss, dissect, and try to make sense of the past, present, and future in film, television, music, animation, race relations in media - and on occasion comics and tech - while trying to remain sane. If you’re tired of hearing the same (*ahem*) monochromatic take on modern media, we’re the podcast for you!
