#148 | Why the “Family Matters” Family Matters (feat. @knockturnalpro & @EgyptoKnuckles)

Original conceived as a blue-collar clone of the “Cosby Show,” “Family Matters” evolved into one of television’s most beloved Black comedies. This is thanks in no small part to breakout character Steve Urkel, but there was plenty to love about the Winslow family as well. In our third 2017 Black History Month special, special guests Ali aka EgyptoKnuckles and Carolyn from the KnockTurnal Project join us to discuss the second-longest running Black sitcom on broadcast TV – including our favorite (and least favorite) episodes, the adult cast’s feud with Jaleel White, and where the cast is today.

Join Brandon, John, Kareem, Ken, and Jamison as we discuss, dissect, and try to make sense of the past, present, and future in film, television, music, animation, race relations in media - and on occasion comics and tech - while trying to remain sane. If you’re tired of hearing the same (*ahem*) monochromatic take on modern media, we’re the podcast for you!
