#182 | “Baby Driver” is a Better Musical Than “La La Land” (feat. @knockturnalpro & @mpcre8tive) | #saysomethingnew

In the grand pantheon of Hollywood films shot in Atlanta, Edgar Wright’s action drama “Baby Driver” is unique in that it actually takes place in Atlanta, and moreover has a soundtrack filled with classic soul and rock music. The SSN Crew, joined by special guests Carolyn and Myonie, spend this first half of a four-hour (!) podcast session reviewing “Baby Driver,” discussing “G.L.O.W,” the latest season of “Queen Sugar,” the cancellation of “The Carmichael Show,” the Black extravagance that was the 2017 BET Awards, and asking why both Phylicia Rashād AND Debbie Allen are just now being inducted into the Motion Picture Academy.

Join Brandon, John, Kareem, Ken, and Jamison as we discuss, dissect, and try to make sense of the past, present, and future in film, television, music, animation, race relations in media - and on occasion comics and tech - while trying to remain sane. If you’re tired of hearing the same (*ahem*) monochromatic take on modern media, we’re the podcast for you!
