We did it, y’all! People of color (finally) received some shine at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, with historic wins for Lena Waithe, Donald Glover, Riz Ahmed, and Sterling K. Brown. The SSN Crew discusses the Emmy wins, as well as Jesse Eisenberg and Kiersey Clemons being cut out of “Justice League,” Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” storming the Billboard charts, and Taylor Swift being sued by the songwriters of a 3LW song. In addition, Ken reviews the new Channing Tatum/Halle Berry film “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” while Brandon rants about an old Debbie Reynolds movie, “Tammy and the Bachelor,” being problematic white foolishness.

Join Brandon, John, Kareem, Ken, and Jamison as we discuss, dissect, and try to make sense of the past, present, and future in film, television, music, animation, race relations in media - and on occasion comics and tech - while trying to remain sane. If you’re tired of hearing the same (*ahem*) monochromatic take on modern media, we’re the podcast for you!
