Join Brandon, John, Kareem, Ken, and Jamison as we discuss, dissect, and try to make sense of the past, present, and future in film, television, music, animation, race relations in media - and on occasion comics and tech - while trying to remain sane. If you’re tired of hearing the same (*ahem*) monochromatic take on modern media, we’re the podcast for you!

Shout out to Brandon for reminding me for why I’ll probably never rely on streaming alone for my music (I scantily use it as is). iTunes Match is a good reason why — what the digital stores have are all dependent on what they have the rights to, and as demonstrated, that can lead to a bunch of BS. So yeah, I hear you, and that iPod dig on Greg.

Though that’s not my reason for keeping an iPod around — I’d gladly move on to my phone if only car infotainment systems didn’t want you to use your voice to find music. Voice control will never be better than direct user input for that purpose, as long as I’m alive.

Other than that, there needs to be someone besides Kareem around to counter all that pro-iOS propaganda on the show. Shout out to Ken, who has a proper mobile device. Greg’s one device to rule them all is the LG V20. I guarantee it.

Also, shout out to Stephanie Mills, my R&B waifu since I saw her in the video for her song “Last Night” as a youngin — her words on the state of the genre rang extra true. I think you mentioned it on the show, regarding Beyonce vs. Adele (Ann-delle? Arendelle? Shout out to Frozen) to get any recognition beyond what she does. All the sales, the memes, all the bee emojis in the world still can’t get her over that award show hump. She got Kendrick’d. This past week I read a story about how she finally surpassed Liquid Snake as the richest female recording artist, again, working 2x as hard to do so.

This will be the extent of any Beyonce commentary I’ll make. Reminds me of how Bobby Brown got shafted at the American Music Awards, for an award that ultimately went to George Michael (who was as shocked as anyone to get the award). Speaking of George Michael, it still pisses me off that An-delle turned one of his songs into a dirge at the Grammys last year, and screwed up the actual singing atop this. He deserved better. We deserve better.

Aight, great show. Can’t wait for the next one. Peace.
